Parties:  Game studio Mojang v. Bethesda Software


Facts: Game studio Mojang named their new game „Scrolls“. But „Scrolls“ are copyright to Bethesda
Software, which are making a game named Scrolls and which will be complete in next year.



Legal issue(s):  Has Mojang rights to name their game Scrolls when Bethesda are copyright to
"Scrolls" but they did not complete the game and did not report Gaming Association with this name?



Procedural history: There was no appeal. Decision was made by the first instance court, Trial
Court.



Reasoning of the court: Court decided in favor of both parties. Mojang has right to named their
game Scrolls, but next episodes will have been renamed. All copyright of „Scrolls“ are still belong
to Bethesda Software.
