Central nervous system infections_clininical signs and symptoms
CNS
infections may be associated with significant morbidity and mortality, often
necessitating emergent intervention to improve outcome.
Regardless of the etiology (viral,
bacterial or parasitic), similar symptoms and signs may be present in CNS infections.
The
findings in neonates contrast with the clinical findings beyond neonatal period (initially nonspecific, often imitating involvement of other systems).
