PRESENTATIONS OF STUDY MATERIALS ON TOPICS • as a prerequisite to be admitted for final exam, all students are required to create and present a study material on one of the given topics for fellow students in any form you find useful (not necessarily powerpoint) • the study material should include concise definitions of the terms related to the topic, as well as relevant context, examples of use, and grammatical information pertaining to these • the presentation of the material in class should involve other students through an interactive activity – e.g. additional questions embedded in the presentation, an exercise to complete individually/in groups, a quiz etc. • the presentation in class should not exceed 20 min, the topics are presented individually or max. in a pair • if a topic is presented in a pair, the co-authorship should be balanced, i.e. both students should participate equally in preparation as well as presentation of the topic • the topics to choose from are as follows (in chronological order): ▪ colours ▪ age and sex ▪ facial expressions ▪ inflammation ▪ tumours ▪ surgical procedures ▪ pathologies ▪ fever types ▪ heart and pulse ▪ death • please assign to the topics using the following link (by adding your name under selected topic): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19Bi9zBDfWI8GAe54- DmKUVTS4oRPQxCjkmW8vekJWcs/edit?usp=sharing • make sure your study material meets the following criteria: ▪ clarity and comprehensibility of instruction; ▪ correctness and accuracy of given information, incl. grammatically correct forms; ▪ logical structure and conciseness; ▪ interactivity and stimulating interest; ▪ effectiveness, i.e. helps learning. • submit your study material in advance (min. 3 days before) into the designated homework vault to receive a preliminary feedback and have a sufficient time to implement it • if corrections are necessary after the presentation in class, upload the final, corrected, version of the study material into the homework vault • teacher may grant students extra points (0-5), one point for each of the following: - submitting on time (i.e. min. 3 days ahead) - presentation skills - interactive activity - accuracy and completeness of information - other extraordinary achievement
