Lesson 12 - Analgesics
Activities in the lesson
- The basic physiology of pain and nociceptive signal conduction will be repeated in the lesson. We will also summarize the possibilities of non-pharmacological and pharmacological pain relief. Subsequently, we will focus on mechanisms of action of selected analgesics and co-analgesics.
- Furthermore, we will summarize the basic characteristics of the most commonly used analgesics, using the table below.
- From the developed list of analgesics, we will select adequate drugs for the treatment of specific patients - mini-case studies.
- We will try a practical prescription on one of the mini-case studies from the previous activity - see the attached materials below.
- In the last activity, we repeat the drugs of hyperuricemia and gout, their mechanisms of action, and basic characteristics. The part is again in the attached file below.
