Clinical pharmacology of antipsychotics
This week, we will focus on the applied pharmacology of a selected group of drugs - specifically antipsychotics. This topic will provide us with a space for the application of the knowledge from the previous week - adjustment of drug doses in renal dysfunction, and the issue of the therapy of delirium will allow us to connect the knowledge already acquired in the fourth week of the semester - do you remember the therapy of symptoms of liver failure and encephalopathy/delirium?
Join us now for a pre-class reading on the Clinical pharmacology of antipsychotics (Chapter 11 of the book). The link can be found below:
While reading the chapter, you probably came across a note that the advantages and disadvantages of the drug dosage forms of antipsychotics will be added. So let's now look at a video lecture on this topic. The length of the lecture is 15 minutes and the handout can be found below.Handouts for the video lecture can be found here:
One of the indications for antipsychotics is the treatment of delirium. Let's listen to a pharmacologist's perspective on the pharmacotherapy of delirium. The length of the video is 18 minutes and again, the handouts for the lecture can be found below.
