Intensive Care Medicine

Arrhythmia

Based on clinical consequences, we can divide dysrhythmias into 3 groups:

  1. Dysrhythmias leading to cardiac arrest
  2. Dysrhythmias causing haemodynamic instability
  3. Dysrhythmias in stable patients

This chapter is focused on the second and the third group.

Remember!

Management of all dysrhythmias and the urgency of therapy depend on the signs and symptoms of haemodynamic instability.
