Below is the text for the resit recording to be delivered by 18 May (I miscalculated the weeks in the original deadline).

Obligatory study materials: a set of handouts available at the Copy Centre in Křížová Str.

 

Course requirements: these have to be met by the end of the term to allow you to proceed to the exam

• 1 progress test (this will be written in class, in session 4)

 

• If you happen to fail the test (passmark 70%), the resit will be held in the last session of your study group.

• mid-term recording: you'll be recorded in sessions 4 or 5; the usual grades: S/I are fine; 

 

• U = another recording will have to be submitted by 13th May electronically + don't forget to hand in the Pronunciation Evaluation Sheet from the failed recording too (as a scan or leave it outside my office on the noticeboard). The text for the resit will be available below.

• required format: wav, mp3, wma

  size: 12MB (not larger, please)

• stress marking: you'll work with one of your essays/forums for PL classes: choose roughly a paragraph (100-120 words) and mark ALL STRESSES (primary and secondary) in it. Then you will transcribe 10 WORDS of 3 syllables and more (if you don't find all of them in the selected section of your text, go to the rest of the essay). You can either add the stresses by hand together with the transcribed words, or you can type the stresses in the text and only add the words transcribed by hand. You will hand it in on paper. 

 

• Deadline:  22 April (either hand it in in class prior to the date or leave it outside my office on the notbd, post it by regular mail, or email a scan - in that case I won't provide any feedback).

• minimum 50% attendance

Exam: 

- a written part in the form of a multiple choice test with transcription

- an oral part: you will be assessed during your oral exam in Practical language (more details in class)

- the final result is a combination of the two grades
