Which groups of subordinate clauses can you distinguish in English? 2. Which main types of finite nominal clauses can you name? Add one example of each type! 3. List at least 8 different semantic classes of subordinate adverbial clauses! Then choose three of them for illustration, i.e. put down three different adverbial clauses and indicate their semantic function! 4. Which relative pronouns and relative adverbs can be used to introduce relative clauses? Present also two examples of relative clauses, one introduced by a relative pronoun and one by a relative adverb! 5. What does it mean that comparative clauses have a postmodifying function? 6. Which subordinate clauses can be labelled as directly subordinate clauses and which indirectly subordinate clauses? 7.
