Translation I. (infinitive & -ing) – KEY

1. I regret to tell you that you have failed your exam.

2. You should/ought to be ashamed of yourself for having lied to him. / You should be ashamed that you lied to him.

3. Having been his own boss for such a long time, he found it hard/difficult to accept orders from someone/somebody else/somebody else’s orders.

4. He wasted a whole afternoon trying to repair the car. 

5. You should be ashamed of yourself for behaving so badly. / You should be ashamed that you behave so badly.

6. I appreciate you/your giving me/devoting to me so much of your time.

7. He was punished by being sent to bed without supper/dinner.

8. Touch your toes without bending your knees.

9. I refuse to pay twice for the same thing. / I object to paying twice for the same thing. 

10. He seems to have been waiting for us for a long time.
