1/2 Special Education in International Perspectives – Spring 2020 Option 1 – My country (and a second one) Choose two countries (your own country and a second one). Try to find out the basic strategies and approaches leading to the support of people with disabilities in education, development and inclusion. You may focus every area of the life in a society (education, work and labour market, family life, social services etc.). Write a report of 500-700 words and upload it to the Homework vaults – Option 1 (Odevzdávárna) in IS until 14th June 2020. Don’t forget to quote some sources. Option 2 – Paper or video Look up a paper or a video (in English) focusing people with disabilities, their life, the support of them, the situation in a country. Paper (min. 1200 words), video (min. 5 min.). Identify the most important thoughts and ideas. Try to compare what you read or heard with the situation in your (or another) country. Write a report of 500-700 words and upload it to the Homework vaults – Option 2 (Odevzdávárna) in IS until 14th June 2020. Don’t forget to quote the sources. Option 3 – Countries Look at the web of European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education (https://www.european-agency.org) – f. e. Country Info or Data. You can find country or theme specific information (reports) there. Choose 3 different countries and a theme (topic). Try to describe the situation in these 3 countries regarding your theme (topic). Write a report of 500-700 words and upload it to the Homework vaults – Option 3 (Odevzdávárna) in IS until 14th June 2020. Don’t forget to quote the sources. Option 4 – Essay Think about the current difficult situation. What does it mean for people with disabilities and in general people in need? What does it mean for people who are in contact with them (professionals or families)? Choose one group of people (according to your study field, your interest, your experience) and try to describe how to deal with it and how to support these people in a situation of emergency measures.
