Online consultation
This week there is no general online session, we will use the zoom link for individual online consultation discussing your essay outlines.
Wait till you get the feedback on the outline of your essay from me (I hope I will manage it by Monday, 4 pm). In some cases, if you wrote a strong argument and the outline has a logical structure, I will give you 10 points and you can start writing a first draft of the essay.
In many cases, however, I won't give you any points yet (for example if you wrote an outline of a descriptive or compare and contrast essay rather than an argumentative essay, or if the topic is too broad for a 5 paragraph essay, or it is not clear what kind of evidence you want to use to support your argument). If that is the case, I will see you on zoom, brainstorm the topic with you, and then you will re-write the outline, or add some information to the essay outline. You will do it after the consultation with me: you go to Week 8, Writing task 8, you will find your first outline, and you post the new version of the outline as a reply to your first draft (so that I can see the changes you made). The deadline for this is Saturday, November 20.
I will spend about 10 minutes with each of you. I set up a doodle poll, in which you can specify the time of the consultation. Unfortunately, I cannot set up one slot for 10 minutes only in this app, so 3 people can sign up for 30 minutes slot and some of you will wait a bit (in a waiting room in Zoom). Here you can choose your time preferences:
