Week Four
Last week, we did a pub quiz that served as an overview of both classic and contemporary stories for children, and were looking at different ways of reading and reading strategies. Please complete Worksheet 3 in a way that makes sense to you. You are welcome to collaborate on it. Please note some terminology overlaps. Use your digital skills to crack the acronyms but if there is anything you cannot find, feel free to ask in class. With reading aloud and silent reading, which are self-explanatory, could you think when it is good and not so good to use them? And, as you said you haven't done much on reading yet, could you also add "skimming" and "scanning" to the list?
This week, we will look at some pre-reading and post-reading strategies. No special prep is needed.
