Week 2
Thank you for bringing your books last week. For follow-up tasks , see below.
TOPIC: The role of reading and ways of reading.
MOTTO:
TASKS:
1. Review Worksheet 1 and complete everything that seems meaningful to you but definitely points 7 and 9.
For 7, I am asking you to develop or find your own reading routine transition song/chant. Feel free to do it in groups of up to 3 people. If you are using the internet, AI or other sources, no problem, fine, but quote the source in the worksheet. Please be ready to share the routine in the classroom. It can be as easy as (another one I use):
One, two, three,
here is a story for you and me.
Please make sure you are able to teach your routine to someone else.
For 9, decide what might be your priority in the course. Classroom reading strategies? Types of books? Reading activities? Practising English? Give yourself some concrete goal in the selected area. For example, if English is your target goal, you might want to aim for 2 new words that you want to fish out from each class (or class prep). If you are after activities, you might like to set a goal of coming home with one new idea each class.
You might also like to insert a picture of the book you brought into class into Worksheet 1.
2. For this week's class, please reflect on no. 1 in Worksheet 2 via notes and comments. Then, watch these two TED talks and note down anything you find interesting into Worksheet 2. Bring with you.
3. If you prefer a printed version, bring Worksheet 3 with you as well but you don't need to complete anything in it just yet.
