Topics for essays (winter 2011):



1.                              “In elementary schools, the researchers say, teachers call on boys
much more often and give them more encouragement. Boys get praised for the intellectual content of
their work while girls are more likely to be praised for neatness. Research indicates that girls
learn better in cooperative setting; yet most schools are based on a competitive model.” Comment.

practice and analyze them in the following respects: the reasons why you chose them, which skill
they focused on, how they worked, and what changes/adaptations were necessary (if any). Please add
