Dear students,

We are happy that you have decided to sign up for the optional course English Speaking Online. This is a course, which should help you to work on perfecting your spoken performance in English. 

The semester starts on 16 September 2019. The first thing to do is the Placement test (see link and information below). This will help us to sign you up for the group where there are students of approximately the same language level. If you have gone through the test in ONLINE_A Angličtina Online and/or ONLINE_AG Angličtina Online - Gramatika, you do not have to do the test again, the results will be entered after you have passed it in the other subject/s. 

After doing the placement test we will sign you in a group and you'll get in the window for the first period of two weeks.  You can start studying the instructions to understand the system of working in the course and then test yourself in "How to work with the course" quiz. 

You will find the links to the groups below. You'll be signed up to groups ONLY after doing the placement test. 


The actual work will start on Week 3 when it is clear that all of you who registered, will really stay in the course. If you have any questions, ask in the discussion forum. Writing e-mails to the teacher is limited to dire situations. You can expect having your questions answered in the evenings or at night, do not be surprised, please, when they are not answered immediately during the following day. Instructions for the Placement test:

Log-in: Click the link above and then click on the MU logo under the heading Přihlásit se skrze on the left. Then fill in your UČO and your secondary password. Your UČO is a number, not the User Name for IS. Your secondary password is not the password you use to login to IS. If you do not have a secondary password, set it at https://is.muni.cz/auth/system/heslo first.

Your test may (but not necessarily, though) include listening questions. Have headphones ready, just in case.
You should do your best so that the test accurately shows your level and helps you decide which seminar group you should sign up for.

The results of the test are entered into IS once a day. Be so kind as to complain only after waiting for a few days.

Getting help: If for some reason you can't finish the test or do not have the results in the IS within a couple of days, write to the thread Placement Test in the course discussion forum.

Only after passing the Placement test you can be enrolled in a seminar group!
