Instructions - how to start?
Follow this link to choose a client you would like to tutor, and
register with him or her. The title usually contains the following information: the class the pupil
is attending/Street where tutoring takes place/name/subjects, which
they need most help with. Each child now has a unique code
to help you navigate the high number of pupils. The two final digits represent the
child’s year of birth.
The subjects are there for a general idea only.
You don't need to worry about them and they do not have to correspond with your
specialisation. The children usually need help with the absolute basics, such
as addition, multiplication, etc.; i.e. things everyone knows regardless of
their field of study. However, this doesn't mean you have to know everything.
If you don't know, don't be afraid to admit it in front of the child. There is
nothing to be afraid of; what matters is that you will spend time together and
that you'll help him or her in every way you can.
Example:
- Every child has a
"coordinator" who will approve your choice of pupil and give you
all the necessary information as well as contact information for the
child’s family, guardian, legal representative, or a school
staff member via your notebook. - Contact the
parents (or a school employee, or a social worker) using the information
given to you by the coordinator. If you have trouble getting in touch with
the family (e.g. if nobody is answering your calls), please e-mail your
coordinator (contact below).
- Arrange a first
meeting with the family, where you will share all the necessary
information about the tutoring.
- Print out the
documents in the Downloads section.
First
visit
Have you signed up with your client and agreed
on your first meeting? Excellent! You, your client and his or her family are
now going to meet in person. You may be feeling a little nervous about this.
That is perfectly normal; everyone gets nervous. You have nothing to be afraid
of. The first meeting is first and foremost an opportunity to get to know each
other and sort out all the necessary details.
!Important! The
first meeting is the time when the parents (or legal representatives, or school staff
members) need to sign the Tutoring Agreement. One copy is for
the family, the other is for you, which you need to scan and upload in the
Homework Vault. You should therefore bring 2 copies of this
document to the first meeting.
