Requirements

Maximum number of points per semester: 100 

Pass mark: 70

Progress test: 10 points

Written test: 40 points (70% pass mark)

Oral exam: 30 points (70% pass mark)

Journal: 20 points

Attendance: You can miss 2 lessons without stating the reasons for your absence.

Progress test

The progress test covers units 9 and 10.

Final written test

The final written test covers units 9-12. The pass mark is 70%. The test can be repeated twice (once by repeating students).

Oral test

The oral test covers units 9-12. Your journals will also be discussed and evaluated during the oral test. The pass mark is 70%. The test can be repeated twice (once by repeating students).

Journal

The journal must include an entry with smart goals (formulated at the beginning of the semester), at least 8 entries per semester answering questions about what we do in the English lessons/student's book and about what you do for your English development outside the lessons (e.g. watching a film in English with English subtitles, speaking with a foreigner abroad,...), and an entry with a reflection on the smart goals, so at least 10 entries in total. The journal will be checked and discussed during the oral test. You can write the journal by hand or on your computer. 

IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO USE ANY KIND OF AI WHEN WRITING JOURNALS.

AI

In the course, the use of AI is permitted for learning but not for cheating.

It is acceptable to use AI for brainstorming ideas, basic proofreading, and suggestions for improvement.

It is unacceptable to have a text generated, translated or reformulated.

Remember to acknowledge all innovative ideas that are not yours. For generated ideas, use in-text citations. At the end of each assignment, state how you worked/did not work with AI.

When in doubt, consult your teacher.
