   Your final mark in Phonetics depends on the result in your final test (60%) on May 19 (20) and
   subsequent pronunciation interview (40%). Students are recommended to talk to K.Tomková and
   have their pronunciation assessed now while there is still time to eliminate incorrect
   speaking habits.

                           language, Phonetics and Phonology, Levels of

                           generalization of speech sounds

   March 3 – TomKat 2 – Introducing the International Phonetic Alphabet.

                                       Accent: American

   March 10 – Prof. Krčmová 2 – Spelling and transcription; Structure of

                      Coherent Speech; Types of sounds

   March 17 – TomKat 3 – Gimson I1-4; Classification of sounds in relation

                      to commonest mistakes made by Czechs; Transcription

                      practice. Accent: Irish

   March 24 – Easter Monday

   March 31 – TomKat 4 - Gimson I5-6, stress and rhythm; Transcription

   April 7 -  Prof. Krčmová 3 – Speech organs and the creation of sounds;

                 Changes in sounds in coherent speech

   April 14 – TomKat 5 – Gimson II7 – accents; final transcription practice.
