Sociological Paradigms: Examples and Applications to Current Events Open German-Czech Seminar at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg Nuremberg, Germany, June 10-13, 2010 Do you want to establish contacts with foreign students? Do you have interests in the mode of teaching and learning at other universities? You are looking for linkages between sociological theory and our daily life and you always wanted to participate in an international seminar abroad? Then enjoy our German-Czech seminar at the University of Nuremberg! The seminar brings together Czech and German students, who will discuss main sociological approaches on the basis of current political and socio-economical events in German and Czech society. In the first part of our seminar the students are supposed to prepare and present in teams a sociological theory and to illustrate it with practical examples. The second part of the seminar is devoted to open discussions: we will analyse some current situations and political events from the different theoretical perspectives presented in the first part. During our seminar session we will have enough time to get to know closely all participants in our joint breakfasts, lunches or dinners and especially during our one-day trip in a city close to Nuremberg. All participants will receive a certificate about work on sociological paradigms and training of key competencies. The seminar organizers take over transport, accomodation, and catering costs. The seminar will be in English. We look forward to see you in Nuremberg! Ten czech persons can join the seminar - please contact us as soon as possible: nicoleta.socaciu@wiso.uni-erlangen.de
