Landscape Response (first class mini-assignment)

Before the first class, I would like everyone to choose a landscape that has had some cultural, social, or personal impact on you and think about how it has a) changed over time and b) what your relationship with it is. Please come to the first class prepared to talk briefly about this landscape and to have a short discussion about its impact on you. There is no requirement to write anything for this informal assignment, but it might be useful to have notes -- and photo's would be even more welcome! My aim with this short assignment is to get us to start thinking about the themes of the course and to get a bit of an introduction to your backgrounds and interests.
