COLLOQUIUM INFORMATION
The final discussion (colloquium) will take place online in the form of a Zoom meeting. You will be sent a link to the meeting you'll register for in advance. Joing a meeting will require that you intall the zoom application on your computer. You'll also need a functional microphone (please check whether your internal/external microphone is working before joining the session) and earphones to prevent feedback during the session.
You'll be able to register for a specific meeting just like for a regular exam date through the IS. Due to the emergency situation, it is possible to arrange colloquium dates throughout summer as well as in September; however, I need to know the demand before scheduling specific dates. Please state your preferences in the poll below.
A REQUEST: After stating your preferences, please plan your course completion so that you don't feel tempted to change your plans later just because it's possible. It is an extremely demanding semester for me in terms of organizing things and getting everything done, and it would be extremely difficult for me to host dozens of sessions for 1-2 students due to the other students' changing their registration at the last minute... :-( I ask for your understanding in this respect.
Study and think of possible responses to the colloquium questions that are available below. You should use the research and concepts we covered throughout the lectures, but you can also include other possible explanations (backed by theory, evidence, and/or logic). There is not necessarily one correct answer for each question -- the important thing is that you think about the problems thoroughly. You need to be able to justify your explanation.
The colloquium has a form of a discussion in groups of max. 4 students. Each student will be randomly assigned one of the questions (vignettes) and will respond to it. Additional discussion may follow, with everybody joining in.
Please GET READY to respond to any of the 15 questions (vignettes). There won’t be enough time to re-read the vignettes during the colloquium thoroughly, so if you come unprepared, you won't have enough time not only to think about a good answer but potentially also to understand the question!
To help you remember, you can, for example, highlighted passages in the questions, or prepare BRIEF notes as reminders. However, you will NOT be allowed to READ fully prepared answers during the colloquium, so make sure you know what you have to say about each vignette. Make sure you have a document or a printout with colloquium questions available during the meeting.
