POLISH FOR BEGINNERS
COURSE REQUIREMENTS

1) Attendance: compulsory. You may be absent twice without any excuse. In case of more
absences you will be assigned extra homework. The same goes for being late. Please, try
to be on time. You can be late twice without consequences. If you are late more than twice,
then you will get extra homework as well (unless you have a very good excuse:
http://youtu.be/09ThzESqNC0 ). If you have classes in the other part of the city just before
Polish and bilocation is still beyond your grasp, then simply let me know.
2) Homework: simply remember to do it. Please, always come prepared to the class. Revise
the material from the previous lessons, so that you keep up with what is going on during
the lessons. If I post any recordings in IS, then listen to them 1,000 times and more. It is the
only way to get phonetics right (trust me, I’m a linguist ;)).
3) Problems with Polish: should you be absent for some important reason or something
is unclear, I can always come earlier to help you or we can fix some other date. Just let me
know in advance.
4) Materials from IS: check IS and print out what is in store for you. I shall endeavour to submit
materials for the following class ASAP. Word of honour.
5) Tests: last but not least. Expect a test every time we meet. It will be mostly just a short test
to check your knowledge of the previous lessons, so do not worry (too much). Tests
are not to be retaken. Just do your best and pass them all ;)
