Interpretation. The first thing I did was research of the word interpretation. Many people understand this word, but what does it actually mean? Dictionary explains interpretation with these words: definition, explanation, presentation etc. So basically interpretation is an explanation of some topic and helps us to understand. I chose interpretation in fine arts. For me interpretation in fine arts is the way of understanding why the author used those words, or colours, or types of windows etc. instead of another and what was the meaning of their creations. For example many people see one painting in a gallery. Ordinary people see but don’t understand what is painted or why it is painted like that. (When we consider that it’s an abstract painting or painting where we can’t find what is painted.) Main thing is knowledge in art periods and what was developed in each period. (In my opinion if a person visits galleries without some knowledge in art it is useless for him in many ways.) I think that we should make a research of the author’s life, where he was born, where he lived, what he survived, in which art period he created. After that we kind of see what his life was. After that we should realise what colours, tones, shapes, lines, brushworks are used and with knowledge in art periods we can find what he tried to paint. This is how I feel what interpretation in fine arts is. Also very helpful is that nowadays many galleries has small labels or cards with information about certain painting. It saves our time and we can understand it in a moment. Interpretation in arts helps us to avoid isolationism. With knowledge we understand and easily find context wheter it is poetry or music or architecture.
