Hi writers,

If you're getting this email it means you are registered for the course CJVAPS, Academic Writing in English. The course has two sections: 	

CJVAPS/01 Wed 14:00–15:40 
CJVAPS/02 Thu 12:00–13:40

My name is Joe Lennon, and I will teach the section on Wednesdays. My colleague Abbie Mokra will teach the Thursday section.

I realize that right now, more of you are registered for the course than are actually enrolled in the section groups! Please don't worry about this yet. If you are registered for the course AND also enrolled in a specific group, then please attend the group in which you are enrolled. But if you are registered but not enrolled yet, please come to the first meeting of the group which you WISH to be enrolled in. We will sort out the groups over the next few weeks. 

If you are in my Wednesday group, we are meeting for the first time next Wednesday, Sept 18, so please plan to attend (just be aware that we are meeting not at FF but in the "K2" building on Komenskeho nam). In my section, you will be allowed to miss two classes without penalty. If you ALREADY KNOW you will miss MORE than two classes for some reason, you should consider dropping the course now, and letting a more committed student take your place. If you are concerned about this and have questions, email me. 

I have posted the proposed syllabus for MY SECTION ONLY in the Class Materials on IS (in the LENNON class folder). If you plan to attend my group, take a look at the syllabus now and see if this class is a good fit for you. If you decide it isn't - then again, please drop the course and leave room for another student. 

If you plan to attend my group and have any questions before we start next week, email me. If you plan to attend the Thursday group, please email your instructor Abbie Mokra.
