How Do I Join The ‘Live’ Lectures? Sadly, I can’t be in Brno to give the lectures. So, you will miss some of the atmosphere of live lectures. You will also miss free chocolate and a chance to win a free pizza! Covid-19 has a lot to answer for! Be aware that things can go wrong and I already know that some of the films I want to show you are not possible to embed in the powerpoint and can only viewed in a browser so it may be a little less smooth than I would like. Joining the sessions In theory at least it is easy. You click on the link below. But read this first before you do! The link should be the same for each session. When you have clicked on it you should be taken to a Blackboard collaborate room “Brno” It will ask you to fill in a ‘name’ so that you can take part. (You may have to do this for each session) On joining, please ‘mute’ your microphone. This is because the sound quality is really bad if everyone has their mics open. Later, if you have a question in chat, I will ask you to unmute so you can talk. I will have control of the screen and share my presentation with you. You should be able to see the powerpoint and hear what I say about it. Apologies in advance for the bad jokes ;-) You can also put comments in the chat. The problem is that I can’t see them when I am lecturing! I will deal with them at the end. Please comment in English! The powerpoints will be placed in the ‘Study Materials’ folder on the MUNI site, (as will these instructions) where you should have also found three ‘vintage’ lectures to keep you busy. There will also be two ‘contemporary’ lectures posted there soon. I am looking forward to it and hope you are too. Let’s have some fun whilst we learn.
