Japanese Film and Culture - INTRODUCTION The “Japanese Film and Culture“ course comprises about 10 sessions (movie screenings). and the final exam will be have the form of a written A-B-C-choice style test. Each session will comprise two parts: a short introductory lecture regarding the topic of the film and about the film itself, followed by the screening of the film or providing you with a link to it. The information/lecture about the film, together with having watched the film, is all you will need for your exam. Please keep in mind that each session will be a bit different because there are several of us lecturers of the Japanese Department participating in this course. We are preparing about ten movie screenings for you, covering topics like: Historical Japan Fantasy Drama Urban-rural Japan Japan and the atomic age Technology in Japan Mingling of Japan´s and western popular culture Prostitution in Japan – its past and present.
