General course information
Welcome to out new course!
The course focuses on the development of plurilingual competencies, in particular the ability to communicate in a multilingual, multicultural environment and the ability to mediate information and concepts across languages and cultures.
Upon completion of the course, you should be able to:
- describe and explain important phenomena and concepts typical of their own culture;
- understand the description of phenomena and concepts in other cultures and be sensitive to their differences;
- work with materials in different languages and combine them appropriately;
- convey understanding of texts in another language in English;
- communicate effectively in a multicultural environment using basic strategies that foster plurilingual communication;
- engage in teamwork;
- present to plurilingual audiences who do not share a language of communication.
The course assessment consists of:
Continuous tasks (30%) - at least 3 tasks to be submitted during semester
Group project (30%) - conducted in November
Final presentation (40%) - delivered in the credit week / exam period
