Hi everyone @ NLP lab (and friends), I'd like to personally invite you to be a part of an exciting student-led research project happening this semester at our NLP lab. If you're looking for a Bachelor's or Master's thesis, a publication as a PhD student, or if you just want to have some fun with the others in the NLP lab, please read on! **Introduction:** In our first seminar, I'll introduce an opportunity for you to participate in a community research project that will result in a submission to one of the competitions at the SemEval workshop [1]. **Project Details:** This semester, we'll be working on a solution for one of the tasks in the SemEval workshop, a prestigious venue known for its impact in the Computational Linguistics field [2] - it ticks all the boxes for a high-quality publication @FI. The workshop provides various tasks, datasets, and a leaderboard-style competition. The top solutions for each task get to publish their results in a full paper, making it a high-quality publication opportunity. We will pick the best task for us to solve by voting on it after a discussion by the second week of the semester. **Why Participate:** No matter your background, whether you're a machine learning expert, linguist, programmer, or a complete beginner, there's a place for you on our team. You can contribute to literature research, coding solutions, or any other aspect of the project. This is a fantastic chance to learn from each other and gain valuable experience. **How to Join:** If you're interested in joining the project, please reply to this email by 24.9. EoD with "SemEval" in the subject line or apply tomorrow in the lab in person. We'll set up a voting app, a Git repository, and a Discord server for efficient communication once we have enough participants. **More Information:** For more details about SemEval 2024 tasks, visit [SemEval 2024 Tasks](https://semeval.github.io/SemEval2024/tasks.html). Thank you for considering this opportunity. I'm looking forward to working together on this exciting project! Best regards, Ondra P.S. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out, or better yet, come to the Lab!
