Introduction
Dear students,
Welcome to the new semester in our reading seminar. I won't be assigning readings yet, as people are still signing in and out. The rhythm of the semester will be such that there will always be 14 days to read a text and write a review. The form of the review will vary, and we will always specify this for a particular text (see table on this page).
Then, there is one week for evaluation. We will work with different forms of reflective assessment, each time focusing on something different. I think this can be both fun and informative. The course is organized entirely in English. I believe that not only the content but also the language training can be interesting for you. It is not essential to have "perfect English" but rather to express ideas in a way others can understand. And, of course, to be able to understand others. The communication language of the course is English. All texts will also be in English; please submit all assignments in English.
Learning Outcomes
- You will be able to read English articles and think critically about them.
- You will be able to write a short critical review in English.
- You will have an overview of topics from selected texts and will be able to reflect and evaluate them critically.
The main idea or goal of the course is - apart from language skills, the development of critical thinking and encounters with interesting texts - above all to think about the relationship between technology, education and society in a broader scale and framework. We are creating a specific reading seminar that should equip you to see beyond the boundaries of ordinary innovation or edTech, as we usually work with it.
Terms of termination
- Completed reviews according to the partial instructions for each text.
- Providing peer feedback to classmates.
Did you miss an assignment or feedback? Write, and we'll discuss how to make it up. The sooner, the better.
