Mock test
The mock test is optional. It is meant as practice for those who are taking the JA001 exam this semester. However, the others are encouraged to take it as well to see where they stand and what they need to work on before the exam catches up with them;-)
The mock test
will be available from 11 May to 15 May. The time limit is 60 minutes.

You are allowed to take it only once.
The test is not graded; it is of a purely informative nature. However, if you fail to achieve 60 % (ca. 31 points), you are encouraged to contact your teacher for consultations, especially if you're signed up for the JA001 exam

NOTE! The standard pass mark in the actual exam is 33 points. The mock test has been slightly abridged, that's why the pass mark is 31 points.

After completing and submitting the test, the results will be displayed automatically

Those of you who are taking the JA001 are also expected to write a reflection based on your test results. For more information, see the box below.

What's a reflection?
Reflection is a serious thought or consideration. It has nothing to do with how much you know or don’t know, or whether you are correct or not correct. The point of your reflection is to put into writing the process of how you have learned English. In your reflection you can also discuss some of the following questions:

  • Based on your test results, what are your strengths and weaknesses in English?
  • What would you like to tell us, as your teachers, about the test itself?
    • How were you preparing for the test and would you do something differently next time?
  • How has your English improved recently and why?
  • Why is English important to you?
  • What do you plan to do in the future to improve your English?
  • Now that you have a few months’ experience as an online learner, would you want to do this again?
  • What do you think we can all learn from contactless teaching?
Writing a reflection
Write about 150 words. This way you will practise for the exam. I will give you feedback before the exam period starts. Upload the reflection in the homework vault below by 15 May 23:55.

The reflection is not part of the credit requirements. However, if you're taking the exam this semester, I strongly advice you to do the mock test and write the reflection based on your results.
