COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is meant for students of life sciences.
We will look at topics related to life sciences that will help you develop in the receptive as well as productive categories of communication.
You will be encouraged to set your own learning goals and monitor your progress.
The entry level is B1. With a lower level, you will find it difficult to participate reasonably well.
With a higher level, you may have different expectations - see the Language Centre website for the current offer.
For self-assessment, use the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) self-assessment grid. Click here to access the document.
There is no coursebook.
There will be handouts available for every lesson in the syllabus. It's a good idea to bring a laptop or a tablet to every class to be able to access the learning materials.
For grammar practice, use our B1 e-book, and ROPOTs which will be made available weekly in the syllabus.
To access the grammar e-book, click here.
You can also practise B2 grammar here.
3) an academic email to an expert/researcher
5) final test + reflection form
