1 CV: Find an English CV of a scientist of your choice. Write your own CV based on the scientist's CV. Submit your CV and the scientist's CV in one document in the IS. Deadline: 10 October

WEEK 4: How to Write a CV / CV Submission

CV Submission
Find an English CV of a scientist. Use their CV as a model you will use to write your own CV. Pay attention to the layout, names of the sections (eg Education, Research Areas) and spelling (eg Is the name of the field the scientist studied written with a capital letter or a lowercase letter?). Apply only those sections that are applicable to you (eg you can leave out the section Publications). Submit your CV together with the scientist's CV in one document into this folder.

This is a self-study lesson. Use the time wisely to begin your work on your position paper:

1 Choose the essay you want to write your position paper on.

2 Read the essay multiple times. You don't need to understand every word in the essay, if the word does not prevent you from understanding the main idea of the argument, ignore it.

3 Highlight the most important or interesting lines or ideas - the ones you would like to comment and elaborate on further in your postion paper.

WEEK 12 - 13: Presentations

The presentations will take place in sessions of 4 students. You will attend just the session you are signed up for.

Your presentation should be 8-10 minutes long (8 minutes is ideal), your presentation will be followed by a discussion - the teacher and the other students will ask you a question related to your presentation. Active engagement in the discussion is part of the successful completion of the assignment.

The oral part of the JA002 has an identical format. Feel free to use your presentation from this course in the JA002 exam.
