19th December
The lecture will be dedicated to the presentation of the final works, to the overall review of the discipline and to solve eventual doubts and questions. In sequence each participant will receive a feedback about the essay from which to develop the self evaluation.
The final essays should be sent by the 9th January 2022 via email to Prof. Paride Bollettin (paridebollettin@sci.muni.cz) and Prof. Robin Pěnička (penicka@sci.muni.cz). In sequence we will send back commentaries to the work for the self-evaluation.
The final essay is expected to briefly introduce and discuss a case study of students’ choice. The case study should be related with the main topic of the course, namely the relations between ethnicity and education, with a focus on a contemporary or historical experience in the Czech Republic or on a personal experience. The final essay should be maximum 5 pages long, including an introduction (to situate the discussion), a description of the selected case study (detailing sources of information, presenting the specificities, etc.), and a conclusion (discussing the case study with the ideas introduced in the course).
In the self-evaluations, students should demonstrate a reflexive discussion about the level of obtained knowledge of the issues discussed during lectures, the development of critical capacities for the analysis of an ethnographic case, and the demonstration of clear argumentative skills.
