Week 3 (practicum)
ASSIGNMENT 1: Create a questionnaire (45 minutes)
Students are assigned to work in 6 groups.
Create a questionnaire that will fulfil the following criteria:
1. The questionnaire must be designed to test a research objective.
2. The questionnaire has to include a standardized questions related to exposure or
outcome.
3. The questionnaire has to contain at least one question with Likert scale.
4. The questionnaire has to include demographic questions.
5. Finally, identify data/variables that should be collected other than by the questionnaire
to increase validity of such data.
Research questions:
A. How does chronic exposure to environmental noise pollution affect sleep quality?
B. How do socioeconomic status influence lung functions in adult population?
C. How does obesity influence the activity of daily living (ADL) in elderly population?
D. What is the relationship between urban green spaces and physical activity levels among
residents in densely populated areas?
E. How does depression during pregnancy affect birth weight?
F. What impact did flood have on happiness among affected population living in Jeseník?
Distribute tasks among the group members to work effectively!
Design the questionnaire using Word or Excel.
ASSIGNMENT 2: CONDUCT QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY (45 minutes)
Students are assigned to work in small groups (each group consists of 3-4 students)
Using the following questionnaire survey:
1. Collect data from your peers.
2. Using Excel, create a dataset with questions (columns) and participants (rows).
3. Define how are your categories coded.
4. Upload dataset to IS“Odevzdávárna”, file “Week 3 survey”.
