Speaking Test
The speaking assesses your ability to speak on a range of familiar topics, such as your yourself, your studies, and a topic of interest. You will also mediate a short text from your field of study to another person using a language function, e.g, comparing and contrasting or explaining basic concepts.
The oral exam is held in pairs. First, the examiner will invite you to introduce briefly yourself and a topic from your field of study you're interested in, giving reasons for your choice (ca. 2 minutes). Then, you and your speaking partner will each draw a short text on a topic broadly related to your field of study. The text may:
Compare and contrast,
Describe a sequence (experiment, cycle, process or a procedure),
Classify a system,
Explain concepts,
Talk about a cause and effect relationship.
You will have about 7 minutes to read the text and take notes, preparing a short summary for your speaking partner. The speaking time is about 2 minutes. Following your brief talk, your partner will have about 1 minute to respond.
Overall, the oral exam session will take 20-25 minutes.
You need at least 60 % to pass this test.
