FIRST EXERCISE

To speed up the first exercise, you´ll be split into these groups and will begin with the selected tasks. If you disagree with the pairing, let me know by Wednesday (12.2.) who you would like to pair with for the practicals.

Study the respective practice manual upfront and prepare for the calculations needed for the exercise. (you can calculate the actual stuff)

Those who will come unprepared will be sent home and lose the chance to gain credits.

What is needed to get the credits?

Attendance at all exercises.
Processed and accepted lab reports.
You are allowed to miss a maximum of two exercises in our subject. But in that case, a relevant excuse must be uploaded to the information system, and exercise compensation is expected (the form of exercise compensation arranged with the teacher).

Preparation for the lab exercise

According to syllabus, you are supposed to read relevant manual at home to be prepared for exercise and do calculations for the preparation of solutions and so on to speed up work in the lab.

Lab reports

You will submit the lab reports (one per group) to the Homework Vault (to the appropriate folder according to the date of the exercise – you can also find the link in the interactive syllabus below). Please, always submit the first version of the lab report within 2 weeks from the exercise date!!!

Use the MS Word format for the document. Any other formats (pdf and others) wont be accepted.

I will then check it out and upload the commented lab report back to the homework vault, into a new folder, named according to your original file. If the lab report correction is required, always send the corrected version within one week after receiving the commented protocol. Please add a suffix stating the number of correction.

You will already know the task number for your group (according to the table below), so you will be supposed to read the relevant manual at home to be ready for the exercise (or you can even do calculations for the preparation of solutions and so on to speed up work in the lab).

Electronic devices in labs

Dear students

there is an ongoing increase in students using miscellaneous electronic devices (tablets, pads, NTBs, and so on) to write down the data measured at practice instead of pen and paper.

Since I am not able and/or willing to vouch for their safety in the labs (and half of you can´t use them, so they are actually helpful and speed up the work anyway), USE OF SUCH DEVICES IS FORBIDDEN IN PRACTICAL CLASS!!!

Anybody can write down a few values. Even practice manuals are handed out in printed form, so you don't need to look those up electronically in labs (not to mention, you should acquaint yourselves with respective manuals up-front)

Homeworks, file collecting.

Not attending one exercise is excusable under the condition of having a proper excuse and handing in a paper on the topic of the respective task that the student would miss.

The paper must be provided in the minimum length of 4 standard pages (6000 characters), based on 10 relevant and up-to-date sources (citations provided, citation style up to you - but uniform, not included in 6000 characters).

If you decide to use any LLM or AI-based tool, please provide the full tree of prompts and responses used in the process (also not counted into the 6000 characters).

The paper must be handed in by the date of the next exercise.
