The aim of the course is to introduce the linguistic aspects of English for Specific Purposes. The course will offer an insight into theoretical perspectives informing ESP and major issues ESP practitioners deal with, such as needs analysis, course and material design, evaluation of teaching and learning, etc.


Credit requirements:

- attendance: you can miss 2 class meetings without penalty, with no excuse needed or wanted

- evaluation of chosen ESP materials + presentation in the class

- a lesson plan for a particular ESP area (to be submitted) + presentation in the class


MICROTEACHING ASSIGNMENT

Design a 60 or 90-minute ESP session using the lesson plan template below. Submit the lesson plan into the folder below - the deadline is 4pm on the day before your microteaching.

Prepare to present the plan in max. 5 minutes and teach a chosen activity in the remaining 10 minutes.
