Welcome to English for Life Sciences


This course will help you prepare for the JA001 Exam in English for Specific Purposes.
You will be given an opportunity to:

1. work on your academic skills (writing a summary, writing an academic email and giving a semi-formal poster talk)
2. improve your language range and accuracy 
3. expand on your language learner study skills and strategies


Credit requirements

1. TASKS

  • Summarising your poster project source for your team members.
  • Writing an email to an expert/author inquiring further information about your poster project topic and arranging an online meeting with the expert.
  • Mock exam test (online) + participating in a feedback session
  • Presenting your poster project in teams
  • Self-assessment at the end of the semester

2. OTHER

  • 80% attendance
  • Completing assignments

You will be awarded "Z" if you complete the above credit requirements.
