Course description

Energy policy is one of the most important topics of today´s EU, receiving the highest political priority. It is intrinsically tied to climate change (due to the relationship between consumption of fossil fuels and GHG emissions), but also to the energy security issues (EU imports more than half of its energy needs) and building of liberalised and unified common energy market with natural gas and electricity.

Students will be introduced to the main theoretical concepts, actors, historical development and actual problems in all these three dimensions.
