MUDr. Bohdana Rezková, Ph.D.
Ochrana a podpora zdraví III - cvičení
The course is focused on a deeper acquaintance with selected topics in the field of public health, specifically in the field of preventive medicine, vaccinology and special epidemiology.

  • ORGANIZATION OF LESSONS

The course is taught in weekly blocks. Each teaching day is dedicated to one of the topics listed in the interactive syllabus. The order of topics corresponds to the teaching days (Monday - Friday).

Each lesson is compounded from two parts:

  1. Self-preparation of students (preparation of the task for the lesson, self-study according to the instructor's instructions) - 8.00 - 10.00 h.
  2. Teaching with the lecturer (presentation of student assignments, lecturer's explanation, discussion on the topic, etc.) in the seminar room according to the schedule - 10.00 - 13.00 h.

Late arrival within only 5 minutes is tolerated. Attendance will be conducted in IS.

The course is completed by obtaining the credit.

  • INFORMATION ON MANDATORY TASKS

For each topic (each teaching day of the week) there is a list of tasks for which all students register in the List of Topics for their seminar group in IS before the beginning of the block (the link is also included in the interactive syllabus below).

The List of Topics is opened during the last week before the beginning of the semester and remain open throughout the teaching period. The students prepare the registered task for the given lesson as part of the self-preparation according to the lecturer's instructions given in the interactive syllabus (typically presentations, etc.) and insert it into the Homework Vault in the IS (links are for each lesson in the interactive syllabus). The Homework Vault always closes at 10.00 am for the tasks of the given teaching day. For each submitted task, the IS then generates 1 point for the student (see below).

During the lesson, the teacher invites one of the students registered for the task to present it. It is possible to use uploaded material in the IS for the presentation.

  • REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THE CREDIT

To be awarded credit for the course, the student must obtain a MINIMUM of 26 POINTS generated and registered in the IS.

THE STUDENT CAN GET POINTS:

1. IN TEACHING

- for the fulfilment of obligatory tasks given by the teacher of the lesson and submitted to the "Homework vault" (specified in the   Interactive syllabus) - 1 point
- for participation in the lesson - 2 points

The maximum number of points that a student can get during the teaching block is 15 points.

2. FROM THE FINAL TEST

The maximum number of points that a student can get from the test is 20.

THE STUDENT CAN LOSE THE POINTS:

- if the preparation and presentation of the task do not meet the requirements of the lecturer - 1 point (The lesson teacher decides on the point deduction).

  • The points are then added up in the IS (final summarization) and based on the value of the sum credit is given or not. If the test result does not allow the student to achieve credit by the due date, he can repeat the test a maximum of 2 times. If the student does not achieve the required point gain, he must repeat the subject.
  • If classes are not held on a given day, e.g. due to a national holiday, etc., students will only hand in the assignment to the Homework Vault in IS and points for attendance on the given day will be allocated additionally when summarizing points for classes (see below).
  • The summarization of points for teaching (visible in IS) will only take place after the end of the teaching of all groups (before the first regular test date, not before the pre-date!). During the semester, students after completing the block teaching can calculate their points according to the registered attendance in the IS and submitted tasks in the Homework Vault according to the conditions of their allocation.
  • The student can replace the excused absence with another seminar group in another week after agreement with the subject guarantor.
