Interactive Syllabus

Welcome to this introductory course in constitutional theory! (We'll discuss the difference between theory of state, theories of the state, and constitutional theory in the very first lecture. We will be meeting every Tuesday from 8 to 9:40 in room 025 for our weekly lectures, and every other Wednesday from 18 to 19:40 in room 131 for our bi-weekly seminars. This course is not adjusted for students with ISP, so if you cannot physically attend classes, please enroll in the "Státověda" course which can better cater for your needs. In ToS, we expect you to physically attend both the lectures and the seminars.

As for grading, every student can collect max. 60 points throughout the semester: 

• lectures: max. 24 points (2p. for attendance, 12 lectures)
• seminars: max. 18 points (1p. for attendance, 2p. for activity, 6 seminars)
• reflection papers: max. 18 points (graded on a scale from 0 to 3p., 6 papers)

After our 6th semester, you will know your preliminary grade on the basis of your points:

• 60-55: A
• 54-50: B
• 49-45: C
• 44-40: D
• 39-35: E
• 34-0: F

On Tuesday 17 December, you'll have the first chance to take the oral exam. (If you need more time, you can also take it in January.) At the exam, you will defend your grade - i.e., if all goes well, you will either keep your grade or even improve it (by max. 1 degree), but if you are unprepared, you can also make your grade worse (but not more than by two degrees).
