Topic 4: Final discussion- reflection and feedback (28 May, 10.30 AM)
The last session will be quite interactive - I will not prepare any presentation, rather we shall immerse ourselves in a debate. The structure of home assignment will hopefully contribute to a lively discussion in which everybody has a chance to participate :-)
Obligatory written assignment (deadline May 24)
The assignment will consist of two parts:
A) Questions/comments related to the course
Prepare two questions/comments that will be based on (or somewhat related to) issues we covered in the course. The motivation for your imputs might be multifaceted - e.g. you did not understand something, wish to have it explained in more detailed, but also you might aim to contravene or discuss certain points you found interesting or controversial. Please provide some justification for your choices = explanation what you ask/comment on exactly this. Be aware you shall focus on matters linked to methodology and not to your topic per se (others and me are not experts on the content of your research problem)
For an example, recall Dariusz's intervention at the beginning of the last session.
I would obviously raise some of your questions/comments to fuel the discussion.
B) Your next publication
As we discussed last time, you will definitely need to publish during your PhD studies. Please provide detailed information on your next immediate publication adventure:
- What do you plan to publish (type of publication)
- What research problem you aim to focus on in that publication?
- What is your time plan, including the milestones in the research process (e.g. conference)?
- What type of outlet (e.g. journal) you plan to publish in?
Be brief but concise.
The completed assignment shall be submitted through "odevzdávárna" below by 24th May by all participants in the course.
