Dear colleagues,

your forensic medicine course (4. 1. - 8. 1. 2021) will be partially online and partially in person. The course will start on Monday at 8 AM at the Institute of Forensic Medicine (Ústav soudního lékařství), Tvrdého 2a, Brno.The building is situated on the corner of the streets Tvrdého and Všetičkova, the nearest bus (tram, trolley) stops are Úvoz, Tvrdého and Žlutý kopec. Please take your respirators with you. There is no need to bring any other special aids (coats, shoes, stethoscope), just consider packing enough snacks since there is no buffet in the building.

Before you come to our department please go through the interactive syllabus "Forensic Medicine - partially attendance (STUDY GROUP 35)" and study the requirements on Monday. Prepare yourselves for Monday. On Monday there will be two lectures with dr. Vojtíšek, on Wednesday we will prepare a demonstration autopsy, visit to the muzeum of The Institute of Forensic Medicine Brno and one lecture. Other days (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) will be online, please do not come on those days to the department.

In very few rare cases the course can be passed completely in online form. You will need to write me an email with a good reason why it is not possbile for you to come in person. For these cases we prepared other interactive syllabus "Forensic Medicine - online (STUDY GROUP 35)".   

The topics discussed during the lessons are: Introduction to Forensic Medicine, Forensic Medicine cases, Changes after Death, Sudden Deaths, Firearms and Shot wounds, Forensic alcohology and Forensic Toxicology. For every topic there will be a simple, training test in interactive syllabus, which you must complete.

The course will end with online exam test, this is the test that we will evaluate and for which you will receive a mark. You will need to register to online exam term first. The test will be accesible through ROPOT Applications (Revision, Opinion Poll and Testing)  only for those who will be registered. You can only open the test once, you wil have 45 minutes to complete the test. There will be 7 questions in the test - in first 5 questions you will need to pick only one correct answer out of two possible, on questions 6 a 7 you will answer using text, please write as many information as you know about those two questions.
