Week One
This week we will discuss the role of reading and literature in the context of education and the teacher's stance on it.
TASKS:
FOR THE CLASS please complete these two tasks:
1. please bring a PICTURE book (obrázková kniha) or a STORY book that you associate with your EARLY LIFE, from baby to preschool or early school age. This can either be one of the books you were read to or one you liked to look through.
If not certain and if possible, consult your family as to what they remember about your pre-literacy/pre-school literacy. It often produces a nice and occasionally, revelatory, conversation.
If this is difficult for some reason, resort to other solutions. If you have children of your own, or younger siblings, or pupils you have a close relationship with, you can use their early "reading" favourite. Just make sure you ask them about their feelings about the book then and now.
If you no longer own the book, please check the MUNI or other libraries.
2. Think about questions and tasks in Worksheet 1 (1-3) and bring it with you. Expect to discuss your points.
3. Go through the course syllabus and course requirements.
