Person Centered Communication

2nd Session Reaction Sheets

Ahamed, Shawn

The second block was interesting, fun, and enjoyable. I appreciated how the moderators used our feedback from the first session in the last one. I also found the discussion about agile methods particularly engaging. Unfortunately, I missed class last Friday because I was sick. I’m looking forward to learning something new in the next session and practicing in class.

Babu, Sritha Zith Dey

It was a very interactive session. I must say in a very simple and finest way, we are sharing our thinking or stories. Pace doesn’t matter for me, but engagement, gaining maturity towards communication, enhancing gesture controls, paying attention for a long time et, these are the main parameters which i liked most.

Benko, Samuel

The activities and theory that had the most value to me were case study, NVC and the concept of giving advice.in the case study even though I was not the one who was asking for advice I still learned about the topic, enjoyed the conversation and learned new way to visualise such situations. I’ve heard about NVC in the past, but only now I looked more into it. It will help a lot with close relationships. Also I liked that we touched the topic of people oriented vs task oriented approach. So far I enjoyed the 2. Session the most and also it had the most value for me

Horňáková, Barbora

I have enjoyed the second session. I feel that as a group we were working together better and the atmosphere was more laid back. The activities of this block I also enjoyed, especially the last one in giving advice. The block also gave me insights into empathetic responses which I will try to implement in my future conversations.

 Hossain, Md Razib

Well, I really enjoyed second session. In this English learning class, we not only practice conversations but also work on understanding and analyzing stories shared by classmates. For example, one classmate shared a personal story about their experience moving to a new city and struggling to make friends due to the language barrier. After listening to the story, we broke it down into smaller parts to identify key vocabulary, expressions, and emotions conveyed. We discussed the challenges they faced, the strategies they used to overcome them, and the lessons learned. From this story, we practiced asking follow-up questions to encourage deeper conversations, such as ’How did you feel in that moment?’ or ’What helped you the most? This approach helped us improve our listening skills, learn how to connect with others on a personal level, and use storytelling as a tool to enhance our conversational abilities. The activity showed us how sharing experiences can build rapport and make conversations more meaningful.

Hossen, Mir Tanvir

The second session was a truly enriching experience for me as a case adviser. It was rewarding to engage with the case provider’s situation and offer thoughtful suggestions that could address their challenges meaningfully. The process of actively listening, analyzing the case, and collaboratively discussing solutions reinforced the importance of empathy and structured communication. Concepts like NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and Rogers’s core conditions played a vital role in guiding my approach, helping me to provide advice in a way that felt constructive and supportive. Seeing the case provider’s positive response to the suggestions was deeply satisfying, as it highlighted the value of collaboration and shared insights. This experience not only enhanced my problem-solving skills but also deepened my understanding of how effective communication can make a real difference.

Hussain, Shahadat

The last block emphasized the importance of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard as core conditions for effective communication. The Nonviolent Communication (NVC) framework—focusing on observations, feelings, needs, and requests—stood out as a practical tool for fostering connection and resolving conflicts. The UQRIA model further highlighted a structured yet compassionate way of giving advice, ensuring the recipient feels understood and supported. Exploring cultural differences, inner emotions, and team cooperation reinforced the importance of empathy in diverse contexts. Additionally, contrasting empathic and non-empathic responses revealed how intentional language can build trust and prevent misunderstandings. This block provided invaluable, actionable insights into relational dynamics.

Islam, Md Rokibul

I would like to share my reaction about second block. If I write in One word it’s simply amazing for me. Bcz I learn lot of things, like ziraf, problem solving, showing empathy, realize thing, conclusion, overall my takeaway for my future improvement listening and speaking.

 Islam, Md Taijul

The second session was incredibly insightful and meaningful for me, as I had the opportunity to serve as the case provider. Sharing my case with the team was both enlightening and rewarding, as it allowed me to see my situation from fresh perspectives. The concepts of NVC (Nonviolent Communication), UQRIA, and Rogers’s core conditions stood out as practical tools that I can apply immediately in my interactions. The thoughtful and practical suggestions provided by my team members offered real solutions that I can genuinely apply, making me feel both heard and supported. I found NVC particularly fascinating because of its focus on empathy and honest expression, which align with my values of fostering meaningful connections. Exploring Rosenberg’ s use of giraffe and wolf puppets in his lecture added a fun and relatable dimension to understanding these ideas. Overall, this session deepened my appreciation for collaborative problem-solving and gave me valuable strategies to enhance my communication and connect with others more effectively.

Pathania, Vishali

Very energetic, smooth, advance session. I think improvement of listening and understanding other thoughts, cop up with situations are the main terms which i learned till now. In addition, becoming more easy for communication is also a key of the class. I am also learning how we are adapting ourselves with different scenarios of communication.

Rifat, Md Shahidur Rahman

As an introvert, the class was very helpful for me. Through that class I became interested in expressing my ideas and learned to share something with others. Thanks for giving us such a fun and educational class.

Sial, Muhammad Talha

The 2nd block was very fresh, interesting and fun. I appreciated that the moderators took our feedbacks from the 1st session and implemented it in the last session. The theory, complimented with hands-on exercises and demonstrations paved way for a deeper understanding of the topics. I especially appreciated the case studies at the end of the last block where we saw all our theories coming together finally in practice

Tichý, Dominik

I really enjoyed the second session. The things that stand out the most to me are NVC, UQRIA, and Rogers’s core conditions. I like them because they are easy to understand and I can incorporate them easily in my communication with others. I was especially interested in the NVC approach and later found a 3 hour lecture on Youtube of Rosenberg talking about NVC with two hand puppets of a girafe and a wolf which I found incredibly entertaining.

Yoojin, Oh

I really liked the second session. I think I concentrated well at the second session because the content in second session was really interesting. Sometime I just speak bit violent to hide myself or to escape from inconvenient situation. I was just don’t want to talk my real thinking in my mind and just using violent expression (like just defend myself from other). But during talk about non violent conversation, I really consider more about my expression type. Now I know just be honest and peacefully talk what I want or what is in my mind is more helpful to handle the problem. Good change for me :) And we have a time to make real conversation about the situation. Actually at first, I can’t really understand what situation is it. Because I’m the only one who don’t major in informatics. So my kind friend Sam who seat next to me just explain what situation is it. It was really interesting how they give advise to person who need help ( also looks exhausting ). For me.. I will firstly make them feel better. And ask about the actual situation, figure out good way together! I can say I was not good adviser. Maybe it is just I don’t have good memory about getting good advise. So it was really interesting to hear about advise experience from other. I will try to follow the UQRIA when I have to give some advise. So now I really looking forward to next session. The more I attend the class, the more I feel myself improving! Thank you
