Final Exam Instructions

Registration Policy

  • Registration for the final exam is available starting from December 1st, 2023, at 17.00.
  • The technical prerequisite to book the final exam is to achieve -at least- 14 points in the points system of Public Health I seminars (aVLOZ0141c).
  • Each eligible student can book up to three exam attempts (one original and two re-sit attempts).
  • Booking of exam seats is possible anytime until 72 hours before the exam.
  • Cancellation is possible at any time until 48 hours before the exam.
  • If the student does not attend the exam they booked, they lose one of their attempts.
  • Absence and delayed arrival are equivalent to failed exam attempts.

Exam Structure

  • The final exam of Public Health I (aVLOZ0141p) is a written exam composed of 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with single correct answers.
  • The exam standard duration is 45 minutes, and exceptions only apply to the students registered with MUNI Teiresias Centre.
  • The exam questions will be based on practical seminars (75%) and theoretical lectures (25%).
  • The student acquires 1 point for each correct answer, while for incorrect answers and unanswered questions, the student acquires 0 points.
  • The grading scale for MUNI students is either Pass (Z) or Fail (N); however, for Erasmus students, the grading scale will be assigned according to the student's home university requirement.
  • The passing threshold for all students is 70% which is 21 / 30.

Procedural Instructions

  • Make sure to bring the following materials with you to the examination room:
CalculatorYou must bring your digital calculator to the Public Health I final exam.
You can bring an arithmetic (simple) calculator or a scientific (advanced) calculator.
PenYou must bring a dark pen with you.
Pencil and rubber eraserYou may bring a pencil and a rubber eraser with you. They are optional.
  • Smartphones, digital watches and other digital devices are NOT permitted in the examination room.
  • No white/blank papers are permitted.

Disciplinary Instructions

  • The final exam of Public Health I is governed by the Faculty of Medicine (Masaryk University) disciplinary code.
  • It is forbidden to use any electronic devices except for calculators. Students who use any electronic device that can potentially give them unfair advantages will be asked to leave the exam and receive a failing grade.
  • A misdemeanour may constitute, in particular, any of the following:

  1. cheating in the performance of study obligations or an attempt to do so,
  2. plagiarism, i.e. using content, thoughts or structure of another’s work without proper citation,
  3. publishing another's work (or its part) as one's own,
  4. helping with cheating or plagiarism,
  5. infringement of intellectual property rights owned by MUNI,
  6. violating university computer network policies,
  7. engaging in aggressive or disruptive behaviour, such as sexual harassment, physical or psychological violence and acts of racism,
  8. misusing or vandalizing MUNI property,
  9. engaging in alcohol or drug use on MUNI premises,
  10. entering MUNI premises with weapons or other items capable of endangering life or health,
  11. default in the payment of a validly assessed tuition fee,
  12. damage to MUNI's goodwill and reputation.

Exam Dates & Sites

  • The students must be in front of the exam room at least 15 minutes in advance.
  • No latecomers will be allowed to undertake the exam.
