Seminární skupina JAC01 Angličtina pro chemiky I

General information

COURSE CONTENT AND INFORMATION:

English for Specific Purposes (chemistry students) - work with specialized texts, vocabulary build up; academic English - presentations and      discussions;general English and grammar -  only marginally!

The course is not obligatory, though it is recommended to study as a preparation for the JA001 and JA002 exams. The anticipated level of language proficiency for the students commencing the course is B1 according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (lower/pre-intermediate). The students are advised to take a diagnostic test (code JTEST; https://is.muni.cz/auth/el/1431/podzim2011/JTEST/index/qwarp ) to verify their level.

There is a possibility to enroll for an on-line course, organized by the faculty (code: ONLINE_A; https://is.muni.cz/auth/el/1441/podzim2011/ONLINE_A/index.qwarp ) as well as make use of on-line grammar exercises (code ZS1BK_AC2A) https://is.muni.cz/auth/el/1441/jaro2010/ZS1BK_AC2A/index.qwarp

CREDIT REQIREMENTS:

ATTENDANCE: the students are allowed to miss two classes per semester, regardless the reason for their absence.

CREDIT TEST: to pass the course, the students need to score minimum 60% of the test given in the last seminar in the autumn semester.
