Bachelor study programme (Department of German, Scandinavian and Dutch Studies) has the conception "areal studies", focusing on Scandinavian countries history and contemporary. Linguistic profile concentrates on language acquisition Swedish in the cultural context. In the B-credit courses rising the themes concerning European integration, democracy and life style as well as actual society and social problems. The main objective of the study programme is preparation for the professional career as translator, interpreter, text writer. The other outcome may be further study at master level in various directions at MU or other universities in our country or abroad. The main value is to support further advancement of the individuality of the student personality.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

  • to understand Swedish text - level B2
  • to speak Swedish - level B1-B2
  • to practise overview over Scandinavian geography, history, literature and art
  • to be able to analyze literature works
  • positive self-reflection in the context of Scandinavian topics

Occupational profile of Graduates of the bachelor study programme is variable according to Scandinavian themes - in travel agencies, tourist guides, translators and interpreters. The graduates can get jobs in the state administrattion, international cooperation projects etc. They have professional possibilities in the school system or correspondents.

The standard studdy period is 3 years - 6 semesters.

The greatest number of courses is appropriated to language competence in Swedish.

The students have the opportunity to inscribe a great numeber of e-learning (ELF courses)

The students can participate at summer cources offered in Sweden.

Practical training is present in curricula through various workshops, and through artistic realisations: music choir (SIST) and drama/theatre group.
