This study programme provides basic knowledge of informatics and public administration systems. The study concentrates on the principles of design and usage of information technologies. The study field is oriented on the development of system software and applications for public administration and related domains. Students gain knowledge and practical skills that can be used immediately after they start to work.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

  • is familiar with the basics of informatics subjects and basics of the field Verejna sprava (Public administration);
  • knows how to create and use information technologies in other disciplines;
  • has analytical abilities and profesional responsibilities in the area of state goverment;
  • has systematic knowledge of the Czech law system and related areas.

The graduates will find employment in the area of development and application of information technologies, particularly in public administration, as computer network administrators and designers of small area networks and information systems. The study will also prepare the graduates to continue their studies at Master's level either in computer science or in any related administration field, most prominently targeted to computer or information systems.

The standard duration of studies is six semesters. In order to be admitted to take the final state examination, students must obtain a total of 180 ECTS credits for required, selective and elective courses. The required courses constitute the basis of the discipline and are worth 98 credits (including credits for courses focused on writing the Master’s thesis). Students choose the selective courses according to their interests and intended professional specialisation.

During the course of their studies, students should follow the course catalogue for their year of matriculation. They can access the course catalogues through the faculty website.

Graduates can continue their studies either in the field Security of information technologies at the Faculty of Informatics, or within graduate studies at the Faculty of Law.
