Neurology“Study and treatment of brain, spinal cord, and neurological conditions” |
Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree education in general medicine. To be admitted to the programme, they also need to pass the entrance exam and have their doctoral dissertation project approved.
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- Conduct independent research in neurology and clinical neuroscience.
- Have good understanding of current trends and anticipate future development when designing research projects.
- Identify and define a clinical problem and apply his/her findings in clinical practice.
- Present his/her knowledge and results to the research and clinical community.
- Lead a research team.

All courses taught as a part of the Neurology programme.
Additional requirements:
Teaching undergraduate students (maximum 100 hours during the standard length of the studies, in accordance with the MU Faculty of Medicine Study Regulations).
Active participation at academic events in the Czech Republic and abroad, including presentation of own research results.
Publication of papers in foreign journals with impact factor: at least 2 papers in journals with IF > 1.0 (at least one of them as the first author); or at least 2 published papers in journals with IF, one of them in journal with IF > 2.0 (first author); total impact factor of all publications > 3.0. If more than two papers are needed to meet the latter requirement, at least two of them must be first author papers published in a journal with impact factor.
Submission and successful defence of doctoral dissertation.
Students must be well-versed in the field of neurology and have detailed knowledge of their area of specialization based on their chosen dissertation topic. To be admitted to the exam, they must also successfully defend their doctoral dissertations.
